A Tad About Me!

Let's see, where do I start. I am a God-fearing, happily married mother of 3 BEAUTIFUL children.

I've always loooooved people. Being one of 6 children I was always in the company of others.  My father was int he Airforce so we moved quite often. This is where I get my outgoing, friendly personality from.  I had to make new friends every 3 to 4 years. I'm usually the first one of the first to introduce myself to someone new! "People person" is definitely an understatement for me.

I've had an idea for a blog for quite sometime but I couldn't decide what I wanted it to focus on.  There are so many things that I wanted to talk about so I decided why not talk about EVERYTHING!  There were two things I knew I wanted for sure.  I wanted everyone to be able to relate.  When I was pregnant I had a challenging time finding a Baby magazine that related to people of color. Baby health tips, beauty secrets and even the ads all seemed to target one nationality. The reality is our world has changed. If you look around we are a beautiful, colorful rainbow (hence the naem of the blog Beautiful Us).  

So I won't stay focused on just one type of person or just one nationality. The other thing I knew I wanted was to encourage and lift up others.  I am huge on giving compliments to even strangers.  Sometimes all someone needs is an encouraging word.  Who doesn't like a compliment? So sit back and visit me regularly.  This isn't just my blog, it's ours! I want this to be a place we can come and learn from one another and laugh and cry together.
